Abstract

Terrain modeling has been an important area of computer graphics and GIS for more than 20 years and despite this long history many problems still prevail. One of the most important challenges is an interactive physics-based authoring and editing of very large scale terrains. In this seminar we will focus on one of the most common cases that are sand covered terrains. There will be briefly described physics-based thermal weathering on TINs and interactive terrain manipulation by user-defined tools.
