Centre of Computer Graphics and Visualization

Welcome to the Centre of Computer Graphics and Visualization at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Applied Sciences at the University of West Bohemia, Czech Republic.

Profile

Centre of Computer Graphics and Visualization (CGV) at the University of West Bohemia focuses its research primarily on algorithms and mathematical foundations of computer graphics, data and information visualization, human computer interaction and applications of computational geometry. CGV research concentrates on development of new approaches to fundamental algorithms and mathematical aspects, human computer interaction and to computational geometry issues. The CGV collaborates in research with many research leading universities and leading IT corporations worldwide and it is also known organizing and hosting the annual international WSCG Conferences in Central Europe on Computer Graphics, Visualization and Computer Vision held since 1992. For the innovative approaches in research & education, the CGV was awarded Laboratory of Excellence by Microsoft Research (U.K.) in February 2004.

CGV research activities are led by:

Research activities are primarily funded by international and national research grants, e.g. 3DTV FP-6 NoE, INTUITION FP-6 NoE, MUTED EU STREPS, FlashPoM EU STREPS, VIRTUAL, LC-CPG etc. Educational activities are focused mainly to postgraduate and PhD studies. The CGV members are responsible for Computer Graphics and Computational Systems MSc. studies.
